Dog lovers can soon look forward to a great addition to Breeven. From the end of June, the existing dog walking area will be expanded with a special swimming area for dogs. On Barelstraat, next to the parking lot, dogs will be able to swim and play safely in the water.
Swimming area for dogs
The new dog swimming area in Breeven offers a safe and refreshing environment where dogs can swim freely and have fun in the water. Mayor Greet De Bruyn (CD&V) emphasizes the importance of this addition: "It will make a valuable contribution to the physical health and well-being of our four-legged friends, and at the same time provide entertainment and relaxation."
450 square meters of water fun!
The extension of the dog walking area covers 450 square meters, of which 150 square meters is dedicated to the pond area. With the help of red and white floats, the swimming zone is clearly demarcated from the rest of the pond, so that geese and ducks can swim undisturbed in the remaining part of the pond.
To ensure that dogs can easily leave the water, the implementation service has constructed a sludgeway, a gradual slope on the bank. In addition, an informative sign welcomes visitors and clearly displays the 'rules of the game' of the zone. According to Alderman for Animal Welfare, Eddie Bormans (N-VA), the new dog swimming area in Breeven offers a unique experience for dogs and their owners, which they can enjoy together.
With the arrival of this fantastic addition, dogs in Breeven will soon be able to enjoy their own swimming paradise. It promises to be a great place where dogs can romp freely and cool off during hot summer days.
